Dermira Added to NASDAQ Biotechnology Index

Menlo Park, CA — Dermira, Inc. (NASDAQ:DERM), a specialty biopharmaceutical company focused on bringing innovative and differentiated products to dermatologists and their patients, today announced that the company has been selected for addition to the NASDAQ Biotechnology Index® (NBI) as of December 21, 2015.

The NBI is designed to track the performance of a set of NASDAQ-listed securities that are classified as either biotechnology or pharmaceutical according to the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB). These companies must meet eligibility requirements, including minimum market capitalization, average daily trading volume, and seasoning as a public company, among other criteria. The NBI forms the basis for a number of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) including the iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF. The index is re-ranked annually in December.
